My horse loves it and I bought because they claim no choking on these pellets which so far its been great. My horse has some metabolic issues so giving these a try
My horses love the pellets and the delivery driver is super accommodating! Would be An even better deal if it was a hundred bucks cheaper....
This is amazing feed. We use the sprouts with chopoed hay for one of our horses that is smoothmouthed and has had trouble digesting too much roughage
I will be figuring out how to add this to all my horses' diets now that I have tried it on one very ulcer prone horse. He often left feed behind during a flare up. He eats these happily and has been flare up free since starting.
Easy to feed and store and my 29 year old loves them! He has put weight on nicely!
Though my animals like the feed, horses and cows, the pellets are too big for the older individuals who would need it the most. I'm aware that I could soak the feed for better palletability, my old man doesn't prefer a sloppy mess. Small pellets work fine for him. And I prefer small pellets for the other older animals. Would that be possible?
Yes! We make MINI pellets for situations exactly like this. Check them out on our site and if shipping seems too high - find us on Chewy.com. They have a great shipping network and can probably save you on shipping costs. https://www.chewy.com/medalist-sprout-pellets-pig-goat-dry/dp/878182
What a nice company to work with!! The smaller pellet is exactly what I’ve been looking for. When you open the bag you can smell the green goodness and the horses just love it! Now just finding out how to get it to me without exorbitant shipping costs and we are good to go.
Love to hear this! Check us out on chewy.com - with their infrastructure, you can get our feed shipped for less. On the other hand, if you need a pallet (2000 lbs of feed) We can usually get that to you for about 20-30 per 50lb bag including shipping! Just head to our site and fill out a free shipping quote form. Hope to see you around. Cheers.
My pigs love the pellets and the freshness is obvious. I wish I lived closer and I could continue to ge this product. I don’t have the means to utilize a pallet cause it would sit for most of the year or else I’d be a returning customer!
Glad you liked our feed! So that you know, we've partnered with Chewy.com for situations like this. Shipping across the country from Utah can get expensive, but with their infrastructure, they can get it to you for less! Hope that helps!
The goats are eating it and seem to like it. I'm waiting to see what improvement it will show.
This has already become a staple in the feed room!
My aged, hard-keeper gelding is quickly gaining weight from adding these to his feed. The rest of the herd gets a scoop or two thrown into their dry lots. The pellets are perfect to keep them busy "grazing", and are soft enough that even the chickens enjoy the leftovers! I've also been throwing a handful in my pocket for treats (and bribery) for the horses I have in training.
Your product was good and I was excited to provide all of my animals with superior feed, but one of my goats refused to eat it and my chickens were not a big fan of it.
I have two senior horses. The 35 year old with no teeth didn’t care for it although we soaked it a ton. She’s super super picky but our 24 year old with some teeth loves it and can chew it without soaking it. He loves it. I ordered 2 more bags from Chewy on subscription!
The sprout pellets I sampled was of great quality and it softens quickly when I soak them. The horses love it. I definitely will be purchasing in the future.
I was soaking pellets and he hated it, wasted half of the soaked pellets. Then I was feeding him compressed alfalfa bales, of which the stems seemed to be more on the floor than in his belly and I had to break it all apart, dusty as well. So far I really like the mini pellets, my older horse loves them as well and it’s a perfect fit for our routine. No more dust, wasted pellets soaked or hay on the ground. I
The horses love the pellets, and I like knowing that I have boosted the quality of their nutrition.
I have a horse that chokes in pellets or cubes and so far she's able to handle these. They soak better as well for the older horses.
Love how simple feed time is for feeding the sheep, horses, ponies, donkeys. They love the feed and we do too. A plus is that it is natural.
We love Medalist feed, all our animals are on it and it has saved time and money.
We’ve been using these for about 4 years with my 25 yr. Old TB. This product is the reason my horse looks and acts 20 years younger than he is. His teeth are pretty much gone but weight is good and his energy is good.
Tried both picky eaters. Gelding absolutely refused the pellets being added (only about 20 pieces added in first attempt), He walked away from feed. Came back & thew it all out of his feeder.
Mare loved it & didn’t miss a beat with the add.
Offered a side dish of this separate from geldings main feed….. 100% refusal.
Mare continues to like it.
Smells & looks like alfalfa.
Overall good feed even though gelding is persnickety with it. Great customer service.
These are much nicer to feed to horses than the big cubes, as they absorb water much quicker, making it easier on my old boy with no top teeth.
All stock loves these pellets, much softer than alfalfa or most complete feeds, but not crumbly or dusty like beet pulp shreds. They are very palatable both dry & soaked. Horses consume them readily without GI upset. Definitely a new fan, fantastic product!
